I am currently looking for a PhD Candidate as well as a Post-Doctoral Researcher.
I am looking for a prospective PhD candidate with a strong empirical background in econometrics and an interest in the economics of digitization, broadly defined.
Start of employment

About the position
The successful candidate will become a part of the department of Business Administration of the University of Zurich, a leading research-oriented and international university that provides a stimulating, dynamic, and collegial working environment. In particular, the successful candidate will:
Develop and conduct empirical research on a topic within the field of the economics of digitization in order to successfully complete their PhD at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Zurich.
Assist with research projects related to the economics of digitization.
Assist in teaching activities and/or in the supervision of Bachelor and Master's theses.
The successful candidate will be fully financed by the University of Zurich. The salary is competitive and set in accordance with the guidelines/scale of the canton of Zurich.
Required Profile
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
Completed Master's degree in economics, econometrics, or related quantitative field of study, at the start of employment.
Strong background in econometrics and quantitative research methods, including hands-on experience with statistical software (ideally Stata).
Strong interest in empirical research related to the economics of digitization.
Experience in web scraping, databases, and data science tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL).
Ability to work both independently and in a team, with good organizational and communication skills.
Strong command of English, written and spoken. German is not required.

I am looking for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the research project "Digitization and the Power of Online Platforms: Measurement and Implications" funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF).
Start of employment
July 1, 2022, or by agreement no later than October 1, 2022.
About the position
The appointed post-doctoral researcher will become a member of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Zurich, a leading research-oriented and international department that provides a stimulating, dynamic, and collegial working environment. They will work closely with the SNF-funded project's Principal Investigator, Luis Aguiar, and are expected to contribute to the project as well as conduct independent and relevant research on the topic of online platforms and the economics of digitization. Active participation in the research team and interactions with the other Professors and PhD students are expected. The position does not include any teaching obligations. The salary is competitive and set in accordance with SNF guidelines based on qualifications.
Required Profile
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
PhD in Economics, Management, Marketing, Information Systems, or related discipline. Candidates who are close to PhD completion could be considered.
Strong interest in empirical research on the economics of online platforms and digitization.
Very strong background in econometrics and quantitative research methods.
Demonstrated ability to carry out empirical research and potential to publish in high-impact journals.
Ability to work both independently and in a team, with very good organizational and communication skills.
Strong command of English, written and spoken. German is not required.
Contract Duration
The successful candidate will initially be appointed for one year, with the possibility to extend the contract for up to three additional years.
